ANAMED Library Talks continue on February 6 with Çiğdem Kafescioğlu, K. Mehmet Kentel and Paolo Girardelli. The talk is entitled “Tam Yerinden: İstanbul’a Panoramik Bakışın Tarihi”.
The exhibition “Tam Yerinden: İstanbul’a Panoramik Bakışın Tarihi” which was opened at Pera Museum in October 2023 and curated by Çiğdem Kafescioğlu, K. Mehmet Kentel and M. Baha Tanman, and the compilation book with the same title, takes the appeal of the 360-degree city view as its starting point and historicizes the formation of this panoramic view. In this talk, Kafescioğlu and Kentel discuss the panoramic imaginations of Istanbul and the city’s place in the world visual history, through the exhibition and book project, moderated by Paolo Girardelli.
