If a user can’t find an item – print or electronic – in the collections of Koç University libraries system, we may be able to retrieve it via Document Delivery Services (DDS). Through DDS, the Library can often be able to retrieve items from the collections of other university libraries, principally from universities in Istanbul or elsewhere in Türkiye. All DDS requests involve the Library being charged a fee, however, so please be sure to check the KU collections for needed items before making a request. Note that these fees are not passed on to the user — requests are free of charge to our patrons.
Inter Campus Loan is the service that circulates material from the book and periodical collections located at different sites. This service is open to Koç University faculty, staff, currently enrolled students, ANAMED fellows and external members. External members can make up to 3 ICLS requests at once through librarian staff. However, external members cannot request books from distant branches (AKMED, VEKAM). ILL is a service whereby a user of the ANAMED Library can borrow books that are owned by another Library in Türkiye. Books requested via ILL will usually take several days to arrive, however the time is dependent on factors external to the control of the Library and can take longer. Note that the loan period is also set by the lending Library, rather than the KU Libraries, so these will vary, and it is the responsibility of the borrower to be aware of the due date for the ILL item. This service is open to Koç University faculty, staff, currently enrolled graduate and PhD students and ANAMED fellows. External members and undergraduate students are not eligible for this service. The purpose of this service is to obtain articles that are not available at the KU libraries print or electronic journals. This service is only for KU members and ANAMED fellows. ANAMED Fellows can benefit from this service, which is free of charge and they can submit 5 articles at a time.
If the Library could not find the requested article in Türkiye, the ANAMED Library staff will search for the article on OCLC ILL Service.
To benefit from this service, users should fill in and submit the Online Article Request. When the request is completed, users will receive and informative email, whether the article has been found or not. Articles may be received approximately in one week.
