A. Iraz Alpay graduated from Ankara University with a BS in Astronomy and Space Sciences. She continued her education by earning a master’s degree in Settlement Archaeology with a thesis on Archaeo-astronomy from Middle East Technical University (METU). She is currently finalizing her PhD in the Settlement Archaeology Department at Middle East Technical University.
Her research focuses on the social systems during the Early Bronze Age of Anatolia. Her dissertation investigates the nature of social systems through the built environment-human behaviour perspective. During her fellowship at ANAMED, she will work at the Linking Anatolian Pasts project as a geospecialist conducting spatial analyses and database-oriented tasks.
