Dr.Abi, after completing her BA in History and Political Science at Istanbul Bilgi University, received her MA from the University of Leiden in European History in 2007, studying also at Paris I, Sorbonne and Oxford Universities through the Europaeum program. Afterwards, she received a Fulbright scholarship to study in the United States and attended History PhD program at UCLA. Her research interests revolve around cultural history, cultural heritage, museums, archeology, and the History and Historiography of the World War I. She has conducted research in Turkey, Lebanon, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States and she is currently working on her manuscript about the cultural property related activities in the Ottoman Empire during and after the World War I.
