Workshop: The First Century of Photography - Photography as History / Historicizing Photography in (Post-) Ottoman Territories

Focusing on a wide range of issues including migrations, war, heritage, collections, photographic missions, gender, nation building, propaganda as well as circulation of images,
the three-day workshop brings together over 25 scholars engaged with photography and history from across the globe, who will investigate the history of photography in the Ottoman and Post-Ottoman Territories from its very early days until the outbreak of World War II.
Registration is required for the first two days of the event (19 and 20 June) via https://www.inscription-facile.com/form/I7LiWWhOj2W5b2DUE95Q. The event will be held in English on 19 and 20 June.
The final day of the event is open to the public, no registration is required. English-Turkish translation will be provided.
