Koç University’s Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (ANAMED) has organized educational programs in its field of study every summer since 2010.

  • Ottoman Summer Program
One of ANAMED’s first summer programs in 2010 was “Introduction to Ottoman Epigraphy.” Since 2015 the program has been extended in coverage and teaching staff and continues now as the “Ottoman Summer Program.” Because of the pandemic, the program was organized as an online program in 2020 and in 2021.
  • Cappadocia in Context Summer Program
Held for the first time in 2010, the “Cappadocia in Context Summer Program” continued to be offered in 2015 after a two-year hiatus. The program is distinguished by being held “in context,” in Nevşehir, Cappadocia. Because of its unique structure and as part of the coronavirus precautions the program hasn’t been organized for the past years.
  • Ancient Languages of Anatolia
The “Ancient Languages of Anatolia” summer program began in 2016 and includes instruction in not only Hittite, Akkadian, but also Luwian and Sumerian, and includes also a cuneiform-tablet writing workshop at the Istanbul Archaeology Museum, making this program unique. Because of the pandemic, the program was organized as an online program in 2020 and in 2021.

The “Istanbul Through the Ages” summer program, which began together with two other ANAMED summer programs in 2010, was held most recently in 2016.
