Geographical Information Systems in the Humanities and Social Sciences Basic Training



There will be a basic training titled “Geographical Information Systems in the Humanities and Social Sciences” aimed at those with no prior experience of GIS on 18-19 November 2019 at ANAMED by Gary Nobles.

This two-day training covers the basics of Geographical Information Systems (GIS): management, visualization, and analysis of geospatial data. Participants will learn how to locate geospatial datasets for use in GIS, georeference scanned map resources, and create new spatial data through digitization. By the end of the workshop participants will be able to perform basic analysis of geospatial data for a variety of humanities and social-science oriented questions.
