Based on her publication Akdeniz Dünyası’nda ve Osmanlılarda Veba, 1347-1600 (Kitap Yayınevi, 2017) and her upcoming work titled “Plagued Legacies: Rethinking Black Death Narratives”, Nükhet Varlık will discuss the matter of pandemics over the course of time, how we think about new pandemics and therefore how we can fight them. Through the talk she will evaluate the long-standing legacy of the past plagues that continue to shape. The talk will be moderated by Tunahan Durmaz (European University Institute).
