Ms. Çınar is currently a PhD candidate at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and a team member at Tell Atchana and Toprakhisar Höyük in Hatay. She has been a visiting researcher at the University of Tübingen and the Institute of Archaeology, Belgrade. Her research interests include grinding stone industry, use-wear and space syntax analysis, and ethnoarchaeology.
In her research at ANAMED, which is also part of her PhD dissertation, she aims to examine the center-periphery relationship through the analysis of ground stone artifacts retrieved from the Toprakhisar Höyük and Tell Atchana excavations, covering the period from the end of the Early Bronze Age to the Middle Bronze Age II. The research focuses on ground stone objects, such as grinding stones, pestles, mortars, hand stones, weights, cutting tools, containers and polishing stones and examines approximately 500 stone artifacts from these settlements. Furthermore, chosen stone objects will be examined for traces of use, thereby aiming to contribute to the literature and archaeology of the region.
